Back: VIRGINIA STATE MONUMENT, Gettysburg, PA. The "Old Dominion's" contribution to the valor of her sons who fought at Gettysburg, stands on West Confederate Avenue at north side of Spangler's Woods. The equestrian figure represents Gen. Robert E. Lee in the position in which he viewed Pickett's charge on July 3rd, 1863. The spirited bronze group at the base shows men of the various branches of the service.
