On back: “Look at those initials. A hundred years old!” Th rock formation is called The Grand Piano, in one of the passages of the Mark Trawin Cave at Hannibal, Missouri. The boys are seeking old names and dates, of which there are thousands written in candle-smoke or scratched into the rock. Becky Thatcher’s name is in the cave, as well as those of many of Mark Twain’s playmates. The cave was discovered in 1821.
