On front: “Lovers’ Leap,” overlooking Lake of the Ozarks, near Camdenton, Missouri 
On back: Located at the confluence of the Big Niangua and Osage Rivers, commanding a magnificent view of the Lake of the Ozarks.  From the cliff, Winona, an Indian maiden, sister of Chief Marabo, Delaware tribe, leaped to her death while being pursued by Chief Okema (Eagle Eye) and his warriors of the Osage tribe. When Miletus, her lover, saw her leaping, he became enraged and a battle betweeen his comrades an the Osage warriors ensued. During this battle Chief Okema and Miletus grappled with each other and feel from the precipice to their death. 
Mailed: Postmark on Jan 9, 1909 from St. Louis, MO. with a green one cent Benjamin Franklin stamp 
Condition: Great with some aging around the edges and a chip on the upper edge
