This is a beautifully preserved postcard. It is stamped with postage from 1944. The back reads "Lake Santeelah, one of the beautiful artificial lakes in SOuthern Appalachians, is noted as a bass-fishing lake. This large body of water is located on the southern boundary of the Great Smoky National Park.

The handwritten message reads,"How ya' all? Warm down here. If I didn't miss Dorothy so much, I'd say this isn't bad country. See Boring. Tex if you are interested. Cant tell you anything about the work because I don't know anything. Looks like a gold rush, keep the faith, Joe. DON'T FORGET ABOUT DOT. "
