Front Text: "10747 – Winter in the Valley of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland."
Left Side Text: "Keystone View Company, Manufacturers & Publishers. Copyright 1900 by B.L. Singley"
Right Side Text: "Meadville, Pa., St, Louis, Mo., San Francisco, Cal., Toronto, Can., New York, N.Y., London, England."
Back Text: "Of all the cities in the world, Paris has had the greatest number and the most successful expositions. The first great exposition was held in 1855 in the Palais de l'Industrie. The fair in 1867 was much larger than the first, and yet barely filled the Champ de Mars. The Champ de Mars and the Trocadero hill opposite where occupied by the Exposition of 1878, of which the Trocadero Palace remains as a permanent museum, and lends itself readily this year, as it did in 1889, to exposition uses. In 1889 the Exposition covered Trocadero, Champ de Mars, the Esplanade des Invalides, and the quais connecting these squares. At this time it was said that no future enterprise could be larger; the limit had been reached. But enormous as was this fair in 1889, the present fair covers double the area. It occupies both sides of the river Seine from a point near the Pont de la Concorde to beyond the Trocadero, and by providing an annex at Vincennes for the railroad, bicycle, automobile and other exhibits, the available area of the exhibit has been greatly increased. Ffty nations are participating, and the fair this year is larger, more glorious, and more successful in every way than any of its predecessors."
