This tintype photograph features a well dressed older gentleman with slightly rosy cheeks. The color is hand tinting done by the photographer after the photo was taken. It makes this photo very interesting when compared to others of the same period. The man is rather somber in appearance, as is common in photos from this time, as the subject had to sit for an extended period of time while the photograph was taken. The photograph was likely taken in the 1860s or 1870s, when tintypes were most popular.
