On back: UNION SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY. Union Square covers an area of 3.48 acres. Broadway to Fourth Avenue, 14th to 17th Streets. Set apart as park in 1809, the scene of reception to Gen. Washington Evacuation Day Nov. 25, 1783. Was for a generation the heart of the Hotel district, but has been developed as a mercantile centre by the erection of huge loft buildings along Fourth Avenue.
Mailed: Postmark on Sep 17, 1922 from New York, N.Y. with a green one cent George Washington stamp upside down
Condition: Great with some aging around the edges
