Back: Mackinac Bridge (Pronounced Mackinaw) “The Mighty Mac” bridges the Straits of Mackinac, connecting Michigan’s two Peninsulas at Mackinaw City in the in the lower and St. Ignace in the Upper Peninsula. The towers are 552 feet above the water, and the overall length is more than five miles. It is the longest suspension bridge in the world. and was designed by Dr. D. B. Steinman.
