Back: The famous Farmers Market is shown here in the active setting of the Gilmore Stadium on the left, the Hollywood Stars Gilmore Field, and the Pan-Pacific Auditorium in the background. The Farmers Market had its humble beginning in the eighteen crude little booths offering fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, poultry, dairy products, homebred bread and California wines, all direct from the farmer. From this mushroomed the most unique and complete marketing center of the west, offering every type of foods, home furnishings, hardware, apparel, gifts and souvenirs.
