On back: Tharp’s Log, Giant Forest. In 1858, Hale Tharp discovered the Big Trees and lived in this hollow log for many years. In 1875, John Muir lived for a week with Tharp in this log and gave the Giant Forest its name.
Mailed: Postmark on June 11, 1951 from Kings Canyon National Park, California with two green one cent George Washington stamps
Condition: Good with some discoloration
