This postcard features the skyline of Lübeck with the Doll-Bridge St. Peter's Church, and St. Mary's Church ("Luebeck Puppenbrücke Holstentor St Marien und Petrikirche") shows hand-drawn X symbols over the two towers. This likely refers to the damage suffered by the church during the air raid on Lübeck on Palm Sunday 1942, when the church burned down .
The dark green and carmine stamps on the back were part of the 1950s "Post Horn" series of stamps from the Deutsche Bundespost.
Condition: Used but very good.
Height: 3”
Width: 5"
