This is a pre-war photo of tranquility with Berlin's Luxury Adlon Hotel in the background. The hotel was badly damage in the bombing of Berlin during WWII, then the remainder burned down in 1946. The Avenue shown had 64 buildings to begin with, only 16 were not destroyed. The rebuilt Hotel Adlon is where Michael Jackson, infamously, dangled his son out the window.
