This lovely lady sat for a portrait in the 1870s at David A. Foote's studio in Wolcott, NY. Her hair is a classic Victorian updo, with a headband or braid holding her neatly parted hair away from her face. Her detachable lace collar and decorative yoke shoulders accent the buttoned front of her matronly dress.

Condition: Fading, mild discoloration due to age, and worn edges.
