1919 Mother and 3 Daughters RPPC - 1920s Women's Fashion - Rare Photo 1919 Twin Girls Black and White Home Photography

These lovely family sat for a studio type photo, at home, to send as a post card to family or friends. A New Years picture of a young mother and her 3 daughters, taken in the fall before (light colored foliage on the trees outside the window). It is possible this is a rare early 20th Century photo of Twin Girls appearing to be about 11 or 12.  They are dressed alike and look the same age. The dresses look to be home made; one would think the younger child would have had the same dress if trying to make girls look alike.The back of the card is dated Jan 18, 1919, meaning this photo was taken in the U.S. following World War I. The absence of a father in the photo is a reminder that the war took a toll on families across the U.S., whether enlisting men for labor or service, and women had to take charge of the household. This may be a photo for a collector of Twin memorabilia or the 1920s era.
