This lady shows off her exquisite and ornate fashion sense in this carte de visite from the Netherlands! The continental style is shown off here through pleated sleeves fashionable at the time, framing a starched white collar meant to be removed when dirty. She accessorizes with a large necklace that incorporates the fancy Dutch gold filigree technique used in jewelry of the time.
This photo was taken by J.G. Kramer of Groningen in the Netherlands, a famous photographer of architecture and construction.
