1880-1890 Smiling Baby Photo Cabinet Card - Rare Imprint on Back - 1880s-1890s Black and White Photograph

This beautiful infant, who appears to be about 8 months old, is bubbling with joy at getting her picture taken. Dressed in a fabulous, lace  day dress, she is all dolled up for her very first photograph. The parents spared no expense when picking the perfect dress, an elegant carved Bench prop, and the expensive black mounting card. This little girl was looking forward to a life with all the perks of the era.

Perhaps even more interesting for the rare photo collector, there is an oval-shaped, negative-like imprint on the back of the card indicating that this cabinet card was stored with, or perhaps displayed in front of, a very similar photo of this infant. Take a closer look at the photos and spot the baby!
