Young Girl Cabinet Card - Victorian Children's Fashion - 1887 Photograph of Angelic Child

This beautiful young girl got her portrait taken around 1887. Her adorable black velvet collar likely had matching cuffs on the jacket, and a twisted cord serves to lace up her front, as was fashionable at the time. Her hair is portrayed beautifully in this photo, with individual curls framing her face and fuzzy flyaways visible -- it must have been hard work to pull her hair back into the chignons popular at the time! 

The photographer is listed on the back as W. H. Jacoby & Son, a photography studio active only from 1887-1888.
