Back: A view is here shown of the New Post Office, Washington, D. C. which adjoins the Union Station. It is built of white granite, covers an area of 100,000 square feet, and in design is an adaptation of Roman Archi-tecture. The Union Station was built by the U. S. Government, the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The cost of the land, building, and terminal improvements was $18,000,000. It is built of white granite, is 760 feet in length, 343 feet in width, and is one of the notable railway stations of the world.
