Back Information: The Municipal Building, located at the 14th and Pennsylvania Aves., is the home of the District of Columbia Government. It is a beautiful white marble structure 243 feet by 196 feet and cost, exclusive of site nearly $2,000,000. The District of Columbia is under the executive control of three Commissioners, two Civilians and one Army Engineer, who are appointed by the President. Congress makes its laws and pays half of the Municipal expense as an offset against non-assessment for taxes of United States property. Besides the office of the District Commissioners, the Police, Fire, and Health Depts. are also located in the Municipal Building. A statue of Alexander P. Shepherd, the last Governor of the District of Columbia by U.S. J. Dunbar, is erected in front of it.
Condition: Good, both the front and the back of the postcard are slightly aged and worn. the edges of the postcard are also slightly fraying.
