On back: Marvel of Construction - Spanning the heavily travelled Straits of Mackinac, and connecting Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to the Great Peninsula at Mackinaw City, and St. Ignace, the magnificent bridge was engineered to withstand many times the recorded stresses of ice pressure, wind, velocity and gravity. Overall length of the bridge is 5 miles; center span 3800 feet between the 565 ft. towers; 8614 feet between anchorages.
