Back Information: "The Hot Shot Furnace was built by U.S. engineers during the 1840's when the old Spanish fort was being modernized. Red hot cannonballs from the furnace could be fired by cannon at wooden ships entering the harbor. From the watchtower, Spanish sentries kept close watch on the countryside."
Condition: Good condition, the corners and edges are worn.
