On back: The Tonto Plateau is a broad table and land lying 3200 feet below the rim. The Yucca plant in this picture grows to about 500 feet above the plateau. This plant is commonly known as the Century Plant because it must be between 20 and 40 years old before it shoots up the tall stalk upon which are yellow waxy blossoms.
