Back: Sitka, Alaska. Sitka is a seaport town, nestled at the base of the coast range mountains and protected from the storms of the Pacific by numerous small islands. Mt. Edgecumbe, an extinct volcano, as viewed from Sitka, has much the appearance of the majestic Fujiyama, the sacred mountain of Japan.
