Santa Claus with Boy and Donkey 1910 - The Fair Postal Studio, Chicago - Columbian Exposition Chicago - Early Holiday Photo Card. This Photography Studio opened with the Columbian Exposition in 1890, but continued in the Chicago Post office after the Exposition ended. It was very popular to get your photo taken to send on a postcard. Notice the Santa has a number in the photo by the donkey's foot. This was to keep track of the finished photo to get to the parents. Wonderful image showing Santa, not as a jolly old fellow, but as a realistic bearded man.
