Two Young Siblings Pose for Photo - 1897-1905 Black and White Photography

These charming children had their photo taken in Chicago around the turn of the 20th century. The young boy on the left had short hair as many did in the 1890s-1900s, but he is wearing ruffles galore as the Little Lord Fauntleroy craze gripped boys' fashion at the time! Bows, lace, and frills adorned many a young boy's outfit even after he had aged out of wearing infant dresses. The young girl wears similar frills, with tulle sleeves accompanying the white lace, but her hair features the longer, face-framing ringlets characteristic of young girls' fashion of the era.
