1860s Tintype of Beautiful Child with Hand-Colored Eyes and Cheeks - Perhaps Deceased?

This small tintype from the 1860s shows a toddler sitting against a draped fabric backdrop. It is unclear whether this baby was a boy or girl, since fashion of the time dressed girls and boys alike. Civil War-era fashion took inspiration from military and sailor uniforms, and the laced boots were common for children of this time. For an over-150-year-old photograph it is incredibly clear. 

Condition:  Bending and discoloration on corners.
