This cute little girl had her photo taken for a carte de visite in the 1870s, when photography was crisp and glossy, and the outlandish outfits matched elaborate scenery! Her lovely long hair flows across her back like a cape, and the little bow perched atop her head is likely the simplest part of her outfit. She has a white lace collar around her neck, leading down to a silk front and sleeve. The dress is trimmed in lace and velvet, with scallops on the sleeves and black pentagons on the hem. She wears a scalloped lace apron with the elaborate dress, adding to the multitude of patterns surrounding her!
