Back Text: "One of the historical monuments of the Great Franciscan adventure in California, which resulted in the building of twenty-one vast establishments.
Carmel was the second Mission in order of founding, established June 3rd, 1770, and further distinguished as the last residence and place of burial of Father Junipero Serra."
