On front: Bear Mountain Hudson River Bridge From U. S. Route 9W
On back: THE BEAR MOUNTAIN BRIDGE, open to traffic 24 hours daily throughout the year, saves time and miles for the motorist. It’s central suspended span is 1,632 feet long, the entire length of the bridge being 2,257 feet. The huge cables, 18 inches in diameter, each contain 7,252 wires, enough to reach from New York to San Francisco. The roadway is 155 feet above the river. It affords a convenient connection to Bear Mountain Park at its western end. A drive over the bridge highway, through the Park, over the Storm King Highway and a visit to West Point, provides the greatest scenic motor trip in the East.
